My name is Patrick Murphy; my friends call me “Murph”. I am nine years old, born in 2000. I have been skating since I was three. When I started in hockey, my parents didn’t know what to expect. Living in Arizona, there wasn’t much information available to them on how to get me started.
I eat, drink, play and sleep with my hockey stick! My goal is to play in the NHL. I have played hockey for six years now. The past four years, I have played travel hockey. During two of those seasons, I played on NHL affiliated teams; the Florida Jr. Panthers and the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes.  I now play for the Phoenix Polar Bears Squirt A Team.
I started this blog, with my Mom and Dad to share my hockey experiences. Besides sharing my journey with you, I hope this blog will educate and inspire current and future youth hockey players (and their parents).
I have so many hockey hero’s … probably too many to list. However, I will say that Jeremy Roenick is my inspiration.

Murph,
I love your blog. It is so wonderful to see such passion at a young age–the sky is the limit for you. Watching the Saints play this summer has made me a hockey fan. Thanks for all the exciting games, I look forward to them each week.
FYI- Dominic really enjoys coaching you, & he appreciates your role as a team leader. Thank you for making his first season of coaching so memorable. We can’t wait to watch you grow and track your career in hockey.

Hello Murph (and Murph’s Mom and Dad),
Your blog is very exciting. I have just begun a website to celebrate the “other” stuff that is part of playing youth hockey; off the ice. The purpose of the site is to provide resources that will make the game more fun, safer, and less expensive (for Mom and Dad). Hopefully, this will create more buzz around our great gaem and get more people playing it. I would like to link to your blog so other hockey families can share in your passion for the game. Please let me know if this is OK.
Happy Hockey!!
