Superman Dive Draws a Penalty!

Physical! A very physical scrimmage on Sunday morning at the Alltel Ice Den. Refs weren’t calling to many penalties, but the Jr. Coyotes 99′s goalie reached out and put his stick between my skates as I was going for the puck. The ref was watching that time! Finally, a power play for the Bears!

The Jr. Coyotes AA shut us down. This is the same team we beat in the Labor Day Tournament?? We need to do better this coming weekend. It was good to scrimmage and a great practice to get us ready for our League game Sunday morning in Chandler.

NHL Deputy Commissioner & Murph

This was a big moment for me! I met the NHL Deputy Commissioner at the Alltel Ice Den on Monday night. After interviewing with the news stations (Fanster.com has the full interview), he stopped to thank the Coyotes FANS and to pose for a picture with me. My mom has already printed this picture and framed it in my room.

One day, I will meet with the Commissioner again … when I am in the NHL! Murph #27

Summer Hockey Camps/Clinics

There is so much to do this summer, especially if you want to play hockey. I will be attending the Collins Hockey Camp in July at Oceanside Ice Arena in Tempe. Oceanside has some great things going on this summer, Mark Ciaccio Power Skating Skill Development Camp is June 1-5th and Brock Ballard’s Evolution of Hockey Day Camp. Mark Ciaccio will also be at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale, June 8-12th

I also recommend, Kurt Goar’s Big City Summer Hockey Camp at Polar Ice Gilbert, I have attend Big City and Kurt is a awesome Coach.

Coyote Cup Tournament

We had an awesome practice today! We are preparing for our Coyote Cup Tournament, a few days after Christmas. I am now on the RED line, I am excited about that! Red is the color of energy, the element of fire … I was feeling it yesterday at practice, back on a line with Bunting.

Our schedule for the tournament is:

12/27/08 5:30 pm Alltel Ice Den vs Vosha

12/29/08 4:00 pm Chandler Polar Ice vs San Diego Oilers

12/30/08 7:00 am Alltel Ice Den vs Peoria Roadrunners and 7:00 pm Oceanside Ice vs Firebirds.

12/31/08 The Championship game to be held at 8:45 am at the Alltel Ice Den, Scottsdale.

It’s Official …

My new hockey gear

My Mite A Travel Hockey season is under way! The team held it’s first official practice last night at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale. I was excited to see all of my teammates in the locker room. Everyone was so pumped up. I was really excited to run drills with my new line, we work really good together!

I tried out my new hockey gear. I wasn’t sure if the new CCM Vector 04 breezers (hockey pants) would change my skating, but they were great. I love my new Bauer Vapor XVI Gloves. I just need to get the Coyote Decals for my CCM Vector V10 Black helmet and I am ready to go. Our practice jersey’s are awesome, just like the pros wear!

We have our first tournament in two weeks, Labor Day weekend in Peoria. I will be playing against some of my friends on the Phoenix Polar Bears. That should be a fun match up.

I am looking forward to my first game as a Jr. Coyote!!
