Arizona Cactus Cup Tourney MLK Weekend

This weekend kicks off the start of the Arizona Cactus Cup Tournament. The Jr. Coyote s 2000 team is one of four teams playing in the Pee Wee AAA Division. The Jr. Coyotes 2000′s will face the Jr. Gulls of San Diego in our first match up on Saturday at 10am. All games will be held at Polar Ice in Peoria. Saturday afternoon at 4:05pm we play the Arvada Major team from Colorado. Sundays 4pm game, will be a rematch with the DYHA Firebirds. The Jr. Coyotes were successful in our last meeting, beating the Firebirds 2-1. The Jr. Coyotes 2000 team is having a successful season, playing in 4 Championships and bringing home 3 banners. Go Jr. Coyotes!

My First IHAAZ Roller Hockey Tournament in Lake Havasu #IHAAZ

I just participated in my first IHAAZ roller hockey tournament in Lake Havasu, this past weekend. The Wolf Pack is made up of some members from my Jr. Coyotes ice hockey team. We were successful in winning our first tournament. Our goalie Taz was outstanding allowing only one goal in three games! Our next matchup is scheduled for the weekend of February 9 & 10, 2013 in Yuma, AZ.

Kids First Hockey Program

The Phoenix Coyotes Kids First Hockey Program is underway at Polar Ice Gilbert. I got to work with Shane today, he is named after Shane Doan and is a Flyers fan just like me! It is an exciting time for the little ones just starting out, and learning to stand & skate in full gear.

The Kids First Program provides each participant a set of One Goal rental equipment, which includes everything your player needs to get started-shin pads, socks, hockey pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, helmet, jersey and a stick. It is fun to see the kids get better each week and are usually skating alone in full gear by the 4th week. Holly Harrington runs the program at Polar Ice Gilbert, and does an awesome job helping the kids progress. I began in the Kids First Program and I am now in my 7th season of travel hockey!

AHU Ice Breaker Hockey Tournament

The Jr. Coyotes 2000 PeeWee Major team will be playing in the Ice Breaker Hockey Tournament on September 21st-23rd, the tourney is sponsored by the Arizona Hockey Union. This will be our first tournament of the season. The tournament games are played out of Polar Ice Chandler and Polar Ice Gilbert. Check the schedule, and cool off while watching some youth hockey in the desert!

Jr. Sharks WIN the Wild West Showdown Banner

Congrats to the San Jose Sharks for taking home the Wild West Showdown Tourney Banner, in the PeeWee Division!! The Arizona Runners came in second, followed by the DYHA Phoenix Firebirds and 4th place went to the La Jolla Jaguars who gave a battle each game they played.

The Sharks had a full hockey schedule playing in the tourney, as well as scrimmaging the DYHA Firebirds 99 team. They put in a full weekend and still found the steam to WIN the banner!

Sharks #7 Scott and I played together for Team Northwest two years ago, in Calgary, Canada at the Stampede Challenge. Small hockey world!

Great Thanksgiving Tourney!! Fun weekend of hockey! Very thankful for my hockey friends everywhere!!
