Playing for Team Northwest was Awesome!

Murph & Coach Michael Hengen from Germany

Michael Hengen Deggendorf Fire

I had such a great time in Canada.  The Stampede Challenge AAA Hockey Tournament, was the BEST tournament ever.  Ten days in Canada, was not long enough.  I wish it was a month!  My 2000 team had only four practice together, and some of the Canadian teams had been together for 3 years, so it was really competitive hockey.  They were checking and the refs did not make any calls!  It was physical!!

I had some really cool Coaches.  Coach Johnson will be the head Coach for the USHL’s Fargo Force and Coach Hengen plays hockey for the Deggendorf Fire GerObL in Germany.  He is also #27, like me!

I made a lot of new friends.  We still keep in touch on xBox Live and email each other.  My first hockey trip to Canada was awesome and something I will never forget.  Thank you Team Northwest and Todd Collins!

Countdown to Calgary Canada!

I can’t wait for June! I celebrate my 9th birthday and a few weeks later, I am going to Canada. I was so excited to get the email from Coach Todd Collins inviting me to attend the Stampede Challenge with Team Northwest AAA Hockey program.

I have dreamed about playing hockey in Canada. It was on the top of my list of goals and in 24 days, I will be on a flight to Calgary!  It is a dream come true playing for Team Northwest’s 2000 Team.
