My team won 2 games in the Coyote Cup Tournament. The first game vs Vosha Mustangs (7-2) and another against the Phoenix Firebirds (7-0). We lost to the San Diego Oilers (4-0) and the Peoria Roadrunners (7-4). We played a good game in our two losses, but it was not enough to win. Our team ranked 5th in the tournament.

In the game against the Roadrunners; I got called for a tripping penalty, but I stopped a breakaway. The Red Line did great in this tournament and together we had nine goals. Here are the Squirt B Division Rankings.
This tournament meant a lot to me because my Pop Pop was able to watch me play hockey as a Jr. Coyote.
During my summer house season on the Saints; we had a new player join the team. I greeted Jake in the locker room, and told him if he needed anything during the game, I would help him. My mom suggested to his mom that he check out the Tuesday night power skating class at Chandler Polar Ice. He attended power skating weekly. His game improved so much; that by the end of the season, he was making plays and contributing toward scoring. One thing Powers has it determination!
Powers is playing house again for his second season. He started the preseason off with a bang. His team lost 3-2, but those two goals were his. He was the game winning MVP and got the game puck! When I heard the news, I had to call and congratulate him. Awesome job Powers! Look forward to playing with you again. See you at Power Skating! Murph
I spent the entire summer playing on the same team as Jacob. Now that summer is over and we are both on different teams, I was taking a face off against him in the Labor Day Tournament. He gave me a hockey hit when he entered the face off circle. Jacob is a good friend and a leader on the Polar Bears team. I thought he was going to get a goal, he had a few chances to move the puck on a break away. He never stopped trying.
I am looking forward to seeing him again on the ice.
I played my final game on the Squirt House Saints Team. We lost by one goal. During the game; I kept thinking that I would not be playing any more games with these teammates if we did not win this game, and I would really miss my Coach. It was really painful in the third period when the buzzer sounded and we lost.
The other team had one really hard player, and she scored 4 of their 5 goals (whatever!), and their goalie is my Jr. Coyotes goalie. He’s had so much training lately … I knew he was going to be good today. Our Team Captain managed to pull a hat-trick out of the game, he was awesome. Our goalie was awesome in net, he really deserved to win that game with the amount of saves he had, because they were shooting on him like crazy.
I have made a lot of new friends this season. We each got a championship puck and that was pretty cool!
We played the Rampage again!! This time … we had a full roster, and it made all the difference. Our goalie was amazing in this game, they only got two past him. When we scored first, I thought for sure we would win this one. We ended up losing 2-1 (I got the assist), but at no point did we ever give up. Even with 40 seconds left in the game, and I hit the ice, I thought for sure we could have at least tied the game … no such luck!
We may be facing them again in the championship game in a few weeks and I feel we may actually be able to take them. That would be the best game of the season!
I can’t believe this season is almost over, I had such a blast on the Saints team and have made a lot of new friends. Most of all, I will miss my Coach … he is really good and I love going to his practices. Mrs. Coach (I made up the name) is really cool, she always screams for us!
Go Saints! Win the Championship!
