Phoenix Polar Bears Squirt A Team Nationally Ranked

WOW!  Check omyhockey_logout the youth hockey rankings at myhockeyrankings.com. My Squirt A team is now ranked 10th in the US after six games.  Coach Ed, Coach Mike and Coach Joel have done a great job in getting us prepared for this season.

We have a lot to be thankful for as we head into our Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend. Ranking #10 in the Nation is definitely one of them!  Looking forward to game time.

You can find the tournament schedule here.  My division will be playing at Polar Ice in Peoria AZ.  Polar Ice Peoria is a few miles from Jobbing.com Arena.

Superman Dive Draws a Penalty!

Physical!  A very physical scrimmage on Sunday morning at the Alltel Ice Den.  Refs weren’t calling to many penalties, but the Jr. Coyotes 99′s goalie reached out and IMG_7415put his stick between my skates as I was going for the puck.  The ref was watching that time!  Finally, a power play for the Bears!

The Jr. Coyotes AA shut us down.  This is the same team we beat in the Labor Day Tournament??  We need to do better this coming weekend.  It was good to scrimmage and a great practice to get us ready for our League game Sunday morning in Chandler.

Murph Rejoins the Polar Bears

After two years of being away and playing for the Jr. Panthers and Jr. Coyotes, Murph is excited to be back with his old Phoenix Polar Bear Teammates for the 2009-2010 season.

Last night, he completed tryouts for the Squirt A Polar Bear Team and got the call after school today from the Coach congratulating him for making the team.

Murph will be coached by Ed Kastelic (former Washington Capitals & Hartford Whalers Forward).

Murph is looking forward to the upcoming season and playing with his former teammates (and friends)!

“I am really looking forward to learning a lot from Coach Kastelic”
