Saturday was an amazing morning in Tempe, AZ!  I joined some Murph at the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walkof my teammates from the Phoenix Polar Bears and walked 3.26 miles to support the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, there was almost 10,000 walkers!

With the support of my family & friends, I was ableIMG_0115 to raise $230 for the cause!  At the very end of the event, I met a Breast Cancer Survivor and she praised us and thanked us for walking.

The Jr. A players were waiting and cheering us on at the finish line.  The Phoenix Polar Bear Jr. A Team will be IMG_0098wearing Limited Edition Pink Jersey’s for 12 hockey games.  They are holding an AUCTION, so you can purchase the PINK jersey of your favorite Jr. A player with ALL proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, the auction ends December 5th.  Go Polar Bears!!

Superman Dive Draws a Penalty!

Physical!  A very physical scrimmage on Sunday morning at the Alltel Ice Den.  Refs weren’t calling to many penalties, but the Jr. Coyotes 99′s goalie reached out and IMG_7415put his stick between my skates as I was going for the puck.  The ref was watching that time!  Finally, a power play for the Bears!

The Jr. Coyotes AA shut us down.  This is the same team we beat in the Labor Day Tournament??  We need to do better this coming weekend.  It was good to scrimmage and a great practice to get us ready for our League game Sunday morning in Chandler.

Highlights from the game on YouTube

IMG_5305It was friends, food, fun and HOCKEY Saturday night at Jobing.com Arena.  Before the game, my family attended a Coyotes tailgating party.  I played a little hockey with some Coyotes fans, everyone was so pumped up for the doors to open and get inside.  I got to meet Doug Moss, he was so excited about Opening Night.

I won a signed Shane Doan hockey puck (on his 33rd birthday), from HockeyBuzz for the sign I made … AWESOME!  It was really cool seeing everyone wearing WHITE.  YandleI saw so many Roenick #97 Coyotes Jerseys.

I finally saw a NHL player with an Easton S19 Hockey Stick up close, when Yandle went to the penalty box.  Wow, I want one!

I really wanted a Coyotes Win, but loosing the game did not take away from all the excitement I felt about the COYOTES being back on the ice in Glendale, AZ and going to my first WhiteOut Hockey game.

My Coach said it best after we lost a game like that “an eye opener … moving forward.”
